The poster will display some example questions from the survey, and will also show examples of how we reported on the survey results using various types of written reports, presentations, and data visualizations. For example: Students in the Alternative Wayfinders group were more diverse in terms of race and gender identity than University Navigators. For this study, the UTF had to rely on others to distribute a recruitment email and the sample ended up not meeting the study needs in terms of size and demographic makeup. Two groups emerged from the cluster analysis during the quantitative stage: one with high levels of academic capital and low levels of library anxiety (named University Navigators), and one with low levels of academic capital and high levels of library anxiety (named Alternative Wayfinders). A corrective plan of action was developed by a senior finance administrator and employed to begin a multi-year corrective strategy. The paper will present a method for predicting the impact of ATO on a DDA that uses STLs. The tentative conclusion indicates that UL100 may have a positive impact upon these students information literacy competencies, compared to the General Education students who are not taking UL100 concurrently. Should we try this again in a few years? These findings are quite unique in the area of library assessment and research; understanding how people think about their library data will allow libraries to offer appropriate choices to patrons, and may even point the way to new services that can be offered for patrons who do want some of their data retained. Additionally, the concluding year of the project includes participant surveys of the previous two cohorts to determine the impact of the program on the participants since completion of their cohort in the program. Design, methodology, or approach Library services informed by these studies findings may therefore be of limited efficacy and could even be counterproductive for the students they are intended to support. Methods & Tools/Digital Libraries But it remains an important criteria for the librarys assessment program to establish successful recruiting methods that provide better representation of the diverse stakeholders using the librarys web sites. This and other complementary services were implemented because of limited access to the physical library building and the print collection due to pandemic lockdowns. With an increasing focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in Academic Libraries, we must ensure that these groups are inclusive and representative of our user populations while providing a safe environment for members of diverse and minoritized groups to provide genuine feedback and ensuring that participation in library advisory groups leads to tangible improvements to their library experience. Liz Bober, Stephanie Church, Gina Midlik, and Jena Styka Payne (Case Western Reserve University) To identify inequities due to compression based on rank and years of experience, a regression analysis was conducted. Modeled after public library programs, this pilot reading initiative was designed to promote a forum for safe and open discussions on issues of inclusivity, equity, and diversity through leisure reading. The preeminent conference in the field, this ninth biennial Library Assessment Conference is co-sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries and the University of Washington Libraries. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance and binary logistic regression with propensity score matching. Additionally, there is an extended cadre of library staff with enhanced skills in research methodologies who can develop and contribute to future research endeavors as a result of their participation in the initiative, whether in their own library or as advisors to other library staff engaging in research projects. While change is hard, having Liaison champions on the working group was key in selling the value of the new procedures and system to its users. Attendees will be better able to deliver on the expectations of employees for workplace growth and that their participation in climate assessment will result in evidence-based change. The library faced reopening at a time where unprecedented guidelines were put into place while at the same time trying to keep staff and students safe from Covid-19. Although the study is ongoing, we have already analyzed the responses from 180 members of our campus community. However, recruiting vulnerable populations undergoes heavy scrutiny with the Human Subjects Committee and requires significant coordination with the centers and adaptation of the language in recruitment emails. The authors envision participants informing their survey practice to maximize impact of the effort while protecting and communicating respondent privacy in order to build and maintain trust. What really needed were tools to reframe their already existing practices to be assessment-minded. Black/African American students were most likely to seek academic support and other resources, and indicate the highest level of comfort speaking with academic advisors. This initiative provided the first data-driven assessment of our service quality and demonstrated our current high service standard. Although the experiential learning treatment did not yield significant differences between the groups in confidence or IL knowledge, the treatment did produce a significantly greater ability to demonstrate IL in a practical exercise (F(4, 15) = 3.586; p < .05). After the plans had been approved by library administration and money had been spent on MISO, we were surprised to discover that the universitys Data Governance Committee had objections to the MISO plan based not only on student privacy issues but also on the danger of setting precedents for other university organizations. Craig Smith and Ken Varnum (University of Michigan) In the pandemic, things have, even when in planning mode, mostly been reactive: shifting institutional and public health codes had to be mashed up rapidly with library norms and care for the wellbeing of our staff. The survey also needed to be flexible so that it could accommodate irregular schedules and poor weather. Only certain library resource that faculty reported using in 2021 were correlated with their research productivity: print books (rs [407] = -.136, p < .01), online journal (rs [418] = .194, p < .01), database (rs [419] = .124, p < .05), and subject and course guides (rs [400] = -.099, p < .05); however, the directions of the correlations were different. However, since general education writing classes attempt to achieve large numbers of learning outcomes, finding time to adequately teach research skills is challenging. We believe that the logic model framework for articulating program outcomes and the rubric for operationalizing these outcomes can be applied successfully as constant assessment tools. Academic libraries are increasingly engaging in critical reviews of historical practice to minimize discrimination in operations. Librarians developed a lightweight, sustainable method of assessment to understand this trend, using DLO metadata, surveys, and semi-structured interviews. Design, methodology, or approach It proved difficult to establish a good mechanism for tracking the status and outcome of a particular effort, such as whether a conversation with a professor eventually resulted in OER adoption. Show AbstractClosePurpose and goals In the days before the MISO survey was to debut, I made a final plea before the Data Governance Committee to allow us to use the student emails for this last assessment. Some very basic examples of survey findings will be presented in the poster, but the key findings here will be an account of both the challenges and successes we experienced when going from initial conceptualization all the way to responding to the survey data. Faculty explicitly teach, or work with librarians to teach, research and carefully scaffold their assignments because students come to their classes with extremely different previous experiences in research and writing. Holt Zaugg (Lee Library BYU) Where once faculty had to enter the physical library to access information, now online database and journals dominate the information landscape in many disciplines.
